World Forum
The World Forum Theater, the theather with the biggest auditorium in the Netherlands with almost 2,200 seats. For over fifty years they have offered a varied and (inter)national program to the audience. It is the stage for musicals, (pop) concerts, cabaret and ballet performances in The Hague, with many celebrities having performed on it's stage. The theather is located within walking distance from Hotel Bries (11 minutes).

Het Zuiderstrand
The Zuiderstrand, directly behind the dunes, is known by the locals as "the peaceful beach". You'll find several authentic beach pavilions and it's the ideal spot to play watersports. The beach is situated close to Hotel Bries, only a 23 minute walk away.
Westduinpark
The Westduinpark, located between Scheveningen and Kijkduin, is one of the largest nature reserves in The Hague. The protected dunes, situated near the Zuiderstrand boast a highly diverse landscape with dense forests and open spaces, wet dune valleys, high dune tops, bunker ruins from the Second World War and freely roming Scottish Highland cows. Due to the many hiking, biking and riding trails Westduinpark is the ideal nature reserve for to enjoy a refreshing sea breeze. You can reach the Westduinpark from Hotel Bries by bike in just 10 minutes.
Haagse binnenstad
In the city center of The Hague, you'll find the most exclusive shops in the Netherlands. All the shops and well-known department stores, such as De Bijenkorf, Uniqlo, and HEMA, are within walking distance of each other, and the charming shopping streets are completely car-free. From the Grote Marktstraat to the beautiful Passage, and from the royal Noordeinde to the historic Hofkwartier: each shopping area in the center has its own unique atmosphere. This diversity makes the city center the perfect place for a day of shopping. From Hotel Bries, head towards Van Boetzelaerlaan and take tram 16 towards Wateringen, getting off at the Gravenstraat stop (a 13-minute journey).

Vigo is the second seafood restaurant of the Roeleveld family. In 2013, Hans opened a restaurant next to the fish shop in the Gentsestraat with his sons Cor and Jonathan. Due to their vast experience, the time between catching and the preparation of the fish is swift and effortless. Moreover, the family is their own supplier, ensuring that the same fish caught in the morning is served the in the evening. In addition to the diverse menu, Vigo also has a real seafood bar. The youthful and enthusiastic staff will be glad to offer you a variety of drinks and a friendly chat. We also present our lobsters, shells and oysters at this bar. Aside from the bar, there is plenty of space in the restaurant or on the terrace at the front of the restaurant.

The Old Jazz
The Old Jazz is a bar/restaurant located in the Statenkwartier neighborhood, catering to the international character of the area. The menu largely consists of small dishes, designed to share. Kijkduin
The small-scale nature of Kijkduin gives it it's charm, furthermore it's the perfect place for a long walk or bike ride. There is also plenty to do for children in Kijkduin. You can grab a bite to eat at one of the beach pavilions or restaurants on the boulevard. The boulevard also features a small shopping center for groceries and clothing. Kijkduin is just a 13-minute drive from Hotel Bries.
Noordboulevard
The Noordboulevard is located between the Zwarte pad and the beach by the Pier. This section of the beach has broad views and is located on the boulevard with various shops, kiosks and Foodhall Scheveningen. It's also more peaceful than at the pier. Walk from Hotel Bries to Prins Mauritsplein and take bus 21 towards Scheveningen Noord and get off at the stop called Zwarte Pad, The journey takes around 16 minutes.
Zwarte pad
A unique and pleasant beach located by the dunes. It is less touristy than the Kurhaus and the Pier, despite this it is still the place to be for beach parties in the summer. From Hotel Bries, walk towards Prins Mauritsplein and take bus 21 towards Scheveningen Noord. Get off at the Zwarte Pad stop (14 minutes).

The beach in front of the beautiful and famous Kurhaus is lively with many beach pavilions, a boulevard full of eateries, and various attractions such as the Pier, Legoland, and SEA Life Scheveningen, all just a 12-minute bike ride from Hotel Bries.
Middenboulevard en het Noordelijk Havenhoofd
This spacious beach with a peaceful atmosphere has a few beach pavilions with the beach itself extending all the way to the Northern Harbour Head, making it is a true surf spot.
Behind the boulevard, you will find the Keizerstraat with shops and cozy restaurants. Cross the Scheveningen harbor towards the Zuiderstrand and Kijkduin. Tip: Enjoy a nice lunch or dinner amidst the bustle of the harbor.
Zandmotor
The Sand Motor, located between Kijkduin and Monster, is an innovative way of coastal maintenance that also provides the room for recreation and nature. It can be reached by car from Hotel Bries in 17 minutes.
What is the Sand Motor? Every year, the sea erodes sand from the Dutch coast. To counteract this, the Rijkswaterstaat (the Dutch government agency responsible for water management) replenishes the sand every five years through beach and offshore sand nourishment. Without this, the sea would pose a threat to the low-lying western part of the Netherlands, which lies below sea level. While the five-year sand nourishment program is effective, is there a more sustainable and natural way to protect the coast? By constructing the Zandmotor, a peninsula off the coast of Ter Heijde, the Netherlands is investigating whether nature can distribute sand along the coast for us. Of course, the safety of its residents is not something that the Netherlands is experimenting with, as the coastal defense is at full strength during the construction of the Zandmotor.
Building with nature
The Zandmotor is a great example of building with nature. By depositing a large amount of sand at once, we prevent repeated disturbance of the vulnerable seabed. Nature will place the sand in the right place for us.
Unique in the world
An experiment like the Zandmotor has not been carried out before. With this project, the Netherlands continues to set the standard in water management, by working with the water instead of against it.
Fietsen
The best way to get from the city center to the beach – and discover The Hague in a fun way along the way – is by bike! With a bike, you can avoid the traffic, stop wherever you want, and you don't have to worry about finding a parking spot. Fotomuseum Den Haag
Fotomuseum Den Haag aims to be a place where people can find space and peace to relax and discover the complexity, meanings and context of photography and to look attentively at art, themselves, the environment and the world. Fotomuseum Den Haag is located within a 10-minute walking distance from Hotel Bries.
With the idea that photography is an art form, Kunstmuseum Den Haag started exhibiting photography in the late 1950s, as one of the first museums in the Netherlands. The former director Louis Wijsenbeek (1912-1985) brought World Press Photo to the Kunstmuseum for several years. The relatively unknown New Yorker Peter Fink had the first solo exhibition as a photographer in 1956. His work is part of the tradition of post-war humanistic photography. This was a significant start, as this type of photography still holds important values in the collection and exhibitions of the present day.

LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Scheveningen welcomes families to the wonderful world of the LEGO® brick. The attraction consists of many interactive sections, including Duplo, LEGO® Ninjago™, and LEGO® Friends™. There are also plenty of places to just play and build with LEGO, a 4D cinema with fun LEGO movies, and an exciting ride through a beautiful LEGO city. Duinrell
Start your day at the amusement park in Duinrell! There are plenty of attractions for both young and old. Thrill-seekers can discover the spectacular rides and roller coasters nestled among the trees. There are also plenty of activities for the little ones, from climbing and play equipment in the large playground to fun attractions and shows in the park. From the amusement park, you can easily walk into the tropical Tikibad. With 21 water slides, the Tikibad is the largest water slide paradise in the Benelux! The Tikibad is open all year round for a perfect day out with the family. In the summer, the renewed outdoor area is open. Especially for young children under 1.20m, there is the Kids Waterpark Playa. Four water slides and a mega waterfall ensure endless water fun for the little ones. Museum Beelden aan Zee was founded in 1994 by the collector couple Theo Scholten and Lida Scholten-Miltenburg. As the only museum in the Netherlands exclusively dedicated to modern and contemporary (inter)national sculptures, its collection ranges from portraits to monumental, larger-than-life sculptures. The original theme is the human figure, with artists seeking to unravel both its physical appearance and its psyche. The human figure has been the most versatile subject for centuries, and artists and sculptors have taken it as their central theme. A wide range of materials are used, from bronze, stone and ceramics to foam, plastic, glass, textiles and iron.

Looking for a sporty adventure? Every day, ships depart from the Scheveningen harbor for sea fishing! All fishing equipment can be rented or purchased, such as fishing rods, lead, traces, and bait. Depending on the season, fishing is possible for mackerel, plaice, whiting, and cod. Cruises Not a fan of fishing? Then you can always go for various cruises. During the summer months, they offer a number of options. For example, you can sail from Scheveningen towards Wassenaar and Noordwijk, but they can also sail towards Hoek van Holland.
